At our Homegroup we are beginning a series on the disciplines. The first area we are exploring together is contemplative prayer. Each week we are listening to a teaching by Thomas Keating, and I’ll upload a link to each file for those who were not able to make HG, or would like to listen again to the teaching. The links will only be available for a couple of weeks.
Week 1: Foundations
Why contemplative prayer is important, addressing the human condition.

Hi there
My it’s good to see Gods hand on lives and helping people find a way when it doesn’t look so straight forward.

Kerry had this idea after listening to a song on YouTube about how much more valuable we are to God than a sparrow. So we made some bird boxes to give away to our neighbours then shared lunch together.

Trying out the new 8mm iPhone movie making app. Spliced together with iPhone version of iMovie & uploaded to vimeo to embed in CCD website.

A superb weekend at the first Solas festival this weekend. Solas ‘aims to celebrate, explore and develop connections between art, faith and justice within and beyond Scotland’
Great music, stimulating talks, great conversations, amazing weather. Much food for thought too and I will share more on this.
For today, here is a poem shared by one of the speakers.
The Place Where We Are Rightby Yehuda Amichai
From the place where we are right
Flowers will never grow
In the spring.
The place where we are right
Is hard and trampled
Like a yard.
But doubts and loves
Dig up the world
Like a mole, a plow.
And a whisper will be heard in the place
Where the ruined
House once stood.
